This is not hard plastic.
These mats are exactly what I was looking for. I used to buy a well-known brand and they changed to a harder plastic. These are much more rubber-like and remind of what I used to be able to get. The color is great and the design is very attractive.

Smell gross
They do the job, but when will the nasty smell disappear? they smell like mildew smoked plastic.

Sink Protector Set
I use this product to protect my stainless steel sink from scratches if I need to wash some pans that can't go into the dish washer. After using, I dry the mats, and put them away. You don't want to leave them in the sink because you will get water spots.

No suction.
It didnt work for me. Suction cups did not stick. I had to toss it.

Careful
Staining these mats is apparently easy to do and the stain cannot be removed. In my case, the mat was stained with barley soup. In addition, the suction cups don't really help the mat stay in place. You get what you pay for?

Matches color of my sinks.
I had to cut one of them to fit...both were same size and too long.
