One Piece - Season 13 Voyage 1

The seemingly interminable Wano Country Arc of One Piece, now at about 175 anime episodes and 8 recap specials as I write this, still has about a dozen episodes to be released in Japan and on the Funimation/Crunchyroll streaming service, but Funimation is losing no time in releasing the English dubs of the lengthy arc just before Wano, the Whole Cake Island Arc. That's the official title of the arc, I believe, although it could just as well be called the Totto Land Arc or the Big Mom Arc. The WCI arc is of almost identical length to the Dressrosa Arc and should consist of 9 Voyages of (usually) 12 episodes each. The first three Voyages will be released in as many months (Voyage 2 on August 8 and Voyage 3 on September 12) so at this rate the season would be finished releasing in March of 2024. But I have a feeling the release schedule will slow down at some point.The first 8 voyages will cover the efforts of Luffy and his allies to rescue Sanji from a marriage arranged by Sanji's hated father Vinsmoke Judge and Big Mom to secure a political alliance between them. Sanji's bride Pudding appears to be a good catch, she's pretty, seemingly affectionate, and shares Sanji's talent as a cook. Although Sanji and Pudding become friends (maybe), neither want to appease their parents and become wed. But fearing what Judge and Big Mom would do to their other friends if they refused to cooperate, Sanji and Pudding have little choice but to go through with the ceremony. Meanwhile, Luffy refuses to give up rescuing Sanji, even with the virtually invincible Big Mom, her 80+ children (many of them very strong), and a bizarre array of creatures and objects animated by Big Mom's Soul power standing in his way. Fortunately, Luffy will also gain powerful and often unlikely supporters along the way.The 9th voyage, by the way, will center on the Reverie, the once-every-four-years meeting of leaders in the One Piece world. We reunite with many of the leaders and other characters that Luffy helped and befriended during his journey as well as some that remain his enemies. Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Army led by Luffy's father Dragon and sworn brother Sabo are increasing their activity, with Sabo leading an operation to liberate the former Revolutionary and Warlord Bartholomew Kuma (now nothing more than a highly coveted slave of the Celestial Dragons).
