Back to basics with style
Mine just arrived so this is a first-impressions report. The ring duration is longer on mine than the one in the video; maybe two full seconds The plastic housing feels solid. The base is molded in. I like the way the pointer overlaps the numbers and has a white marker. I can read it from across the room. I am not swearing off using the timer on my phone and the timer on the oven itself but I plan to usually just grab this simple timer. I agree with other reviewers that you have to follow the designer’s intent and wind it up with close to a full rotation before you set it.

Does what it's s'posed to do - countdown time and ring when time's up
Very basic spring timer at a fair price. One sweeping motion sets the spring so the bell rings at the end of the countdown, and unless you're preforming precision scientific work requiring pinpoint nanosecond timing, it is accurate within five seconds depending on how tightly you align the hash mark on the winder with the hashmark on the clockface.Reading through negative reviews gives me the impression folks are too accustomed to digital timers and expect similar precision and volume. This is just a mechanical timer that counts down long minutes with enough slack in time to ensure the egg is boiled and the French press is done. And it does it exceptionally well with a simple twist, set, and go. And the ring is loud and long enough to let you know time has run out. Well, long enough if you twist the setting dial all the way around as instructed on the face of the timer.

Started Out Strong, but Stopped Working After a few Months
We very much wanted a dial timer that stood upright, making it easier to read from across the room, and this one had that feature, along with what seemed to be very solid build for a small timer. It's easy to turn, even though it has to be turned past a certain point, and then back to the time desired, if a lesser amount of time (but many are that way, so no points off for that feature). It worked great for awhile, but then it simply stopped working. It wouldn't count down accurately, and sometimes wouldn't count down at all, despite being properly set. Can't speak to the magnet's feature, because we just used it on the countertop. It is VERY LOUD, no issue there, and is fairly easy to read. But since it stopped working after only a few months of normal use, have to give it 1 star, and we'll have to try another brand.

loud enugh to hear in other room or away from task.was dissapointed.at ring/volume
ring is not that long or that loud for hard of hearing could be 20% louder/ longer willing to play the added cost the narrative is not verifyed by the hype.Caveat emptor is a Latin phrase that translates to "let the buyer beware." It means that an individual buys at their own risk. Potential buyers are warned by the phrase to do their research and ask pointed questions of the seller. The seller isn't responsible for problems that the buyer encounters with the product after the sale.
